Not Your Typical Book Swap

I think it's time for a book swap. I've never done this before so bare with me.

When we moved to California from the east coast I decided to consolidate my book collection. Books are heavy. At one time, I owned every book by Nicholas Sparks, Mitch Albom, and Philippa Gregory. Very eclectic. I also had a large selection of young adult and children's books that I had collected through college but I donated them to my students in PA. My husband also narrowed down his book collection which included a dozen first edition Stephen King novels. We took most of them, about 4 boxes, to a place called Half  Priced Books which buys/sells used books. Maybe we had high expectations, but we thought since we had entire collections and first editions we were going to make some money. Not really. After 30 minutes they called us up to the desk and offered us $45 for them all. We were a little peeved, but we also didn't want to pack them back up and take them home. So, we took the money and ate dinner across the street at Olive Garden.

Anyway, back to the swap. Since we arrived in California, I have built up a small collection of books. Unfortunately, we have a very small place here and not a lot of room. This place is only temporary too so we will have to move again in the future.

With the exception of a half dozen books, I rarely re-read books once I have completed them . So, what am I suppose to do with them now? I would bring them to another buy/sell book store, but the last experience has left me a little disappointed. Here is my idea...

I will swap a book for anything. Literally, anything. Books, craft supplies, stickers, book marks, notebooks, an old coffee mug, ephemera, ink pads, a rubber stamp, card stock, ribbon, you get the idea. Here's the deal, I've posted a list of books that I have to offer below. If you want one, swap with me. First person to call 'dibs' on a book in the comment section gets it and I'll coss it off the list and send it out on good faith. BUT- DON'T TELL ME WHAT YOU ARE SWAPPING FOR- just send it. I like surprises.

Here we go, not your typical book swap.

Bloody Mary by Carolly Erickson
The White Queen by Philippa Gregory
The Mystery of the Princes by Audrey Williamson
The Everything Wedding Etiquette Book by Eherenstein & Morin
The Tudor Regime by Penry Williams
The Pelican History of England 5: Tudor England by S.T. Bindoff
Don't you dare get married until you read this by Corey Donaldson
The Other Tudors by Philippa Jones
The Tudor Queens of England by David Loades
Between Two Queens by Kate Emerson
Lucky by Alice Sebold
To the Tower Born by Robin Maxwell

All of the books are in good condition but are used. If you have any questions or would like to know what each book is about or my opinion of it please feel free to e-mail me at cortneylyon@gmail.com or leave it in the comment section.

I hope this works! Happy Swapping!
